Spacious Villas in the Foothills of Miravalles Volcano

Welcome to Las Villas del Guayabo

We are located on 250 acres in Guayabo de Bagaces, in Costa Rica's scenic Guanacaste province.

Since we bought the property in 2005, we've been in the process of giving it back to nature. The previous owner ran cattle, which resulted in mud holes, trampled vegetation, and lots of broken fences.  After three years without cattle, the howler monkeys returned to the forest.

We've planted a variety of fruit trees — limes, mangoes and starfruit to name a few — to complement the existing guava, cashew, avocado, citrus and mango trees. There's now a grape arbor with 300 grape plants.  When Costa Rica's electric company, ICE (Instituto Costarricense de Electricidad), announced the availability of hardwood seedlings in 2009, we planted 12,000 around the farm.

By the end of 2010, we will have 7 spacious (1550 sq. ft.) villas available for rent. Each fully-equipped villa has all the features you would want for any length of stay (day, week or month). Construction began in December 2009; you can follow our building progress by viewing the photo gallery here. These villas are located on a 2 1/4-acre site on top of a hill with views of the Miravalles volcano to the northeast and the Tempisque river to the south.
