Nestled in the mountains in Costa Rica's Guanacaste province, we sit on 250 acres of rolling hills near the base of the Miravalles Volcano. The volcano last erupted in 1946 and is the site of the largest geothermal field in Costa Rica.
You can view the steamy plumes from the Miravalles Geothermal Electric Plant from your 10-foot wrap-around porch or, on a clear day, enjoy the view of the Tempisque river.
Daily temperatures at the villas range between 70-80°F or 21-26°C — perfect weather for shorts and flip-flops! Occasionally in the afternoon, there might be a 30-minute rain shower — that, many times, produces the most beautiful rainbows. In January-to-March, the trade winds (between 32 and 74 km/hr) visit the foothills of Miravalles providing a refreshing breeze. April-to-June is spring time; the weather is dryer and the winds have died down. July-to-October is rainy season and you will likely see a shower each day. October-to-December is our summer-time, with little-to-no winds and is our favorite time of the year!
